Labor & Deliverance – Part 2

As my condition worsened family, friends, and my church members (many of whom I didn’t know at the time) came into my room and began praying on my behalf. So much so, that one of my friends described the atmosphere in the hospital room as being “electrified”. Once I woke up from my coma, I was told how everyone prayed for me and in the midst of the praying I began moving my head in agreement. I believe, while I physically couldn’t verbalize and stand in agreement with them, the Holy Spirit took over and stood in the gap for me. At a time when I couldn’t pray for myself, I made it through because others were interceding on my behalf.

Days later, as I was being taken from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to the maternity ward, one of the nurses told me that she had heard about my ordeal while she was at the mall on her day off. She told me how the whole hospital was talking about it, and that she along with other staff members had prayed for healing for myself and my daughter. It has taken years for me to realize that my life wasn’t the only life that was changed on that day. The lives of my friends, family, church members and hospital staff were impacted as well. People’s faith in God was restored on that day. Through an almost tragic situation, God turned things around and showed that he’s still a miracle worker. It humbles me every time I think about how fragile life really is. I could have died on my bathroom floor alone, with my six year old sitting in the next room…But God. Whenever my little one asks for a hug, no matter what’s going on, I give it to her. Because I could have left this world without not only never getting to hold her, but I could have never even gotten a real glimpse of her. That day seven years ago I lost pieces of me, but in retrospect I gained so much more.

  1. Incredible. What a beautiful testimony to how the power of prayer works. You’re here to tell the story of God’s amazing power to heal.

    1. Thank you! I’ve been keeping it to myself for years and God has definitely been dealing with me about not sharing it. It was the hardest, yet most wonderful and powerful thing I’ve ever experienced (if that makes sense). Yes, If I don’t know anything else, I know that the power of prayer is real and it works.
